Lets get started with a recipe on how to cook fried rice.

Preparing fried rice is not an extremely difficult task. The whole processincluding preparation and cooking takes about twenty minutes to a half hour.Depending on your personal preferences, you may wish to add or subtract some ofthe ingredients listed which will affect the total time. This should give you abetter understanding on how to make fried rice at home.

Ingredients

The first and most important necessary ingredient is rice of course! Werecommend 3-4 cups of refrigerated long grain white rice.

The next ingredient is soy sauce. 1.5 to 2 teaspoons is a number that wefind works well. Oyster sauce can also be used if that is your personalpreference.

4 tablespoons of vegetable oil

1-2 onions based on personal preference

½ to 1 teaspoon pepper

½ to 1 teaspoon of salt

Optional ingredients include:

1-2 eggs

Shredded carrots

Peas

Preparing the Ingredients

Make sure all of the ingredients are readily accessible. This includesmaking sure that the rice is precooked, chopping up the onions, beating theeggs and basically making sure that you will not have to search for anything inthe middle of the cooking process. This will save you a lot of time in thekitchen. When everything is ready, it is time to begin the cooking process.

Cooking the Fried Rice

The first step is to put the wok or frying pan on the burner and turn theheat to medium high. Allow it to heat a little and add half of the vegetableoil amount that you will be using. When the bottom is coated reduce the heat tomedium and add the eggs. Cook until finished and then remove them from the pan.Clean out the residue in the pan and add the rest of the vegetable oil. Add allof the rice. Using the large spoon, stir occasionally for a few minutes. Thenext step is to add in the oyster or soy sauce. After a minute or so, add inthe rest of the ingredients. This includes the finished scrambled eggs. Stir afew more times and allow the ingredients to form a nice mixture. When hot,remove from burner, place in bowl, serve and enjoy!
